“Limbo” is a capture of the life and emotional state of Ukrainian refugees living in a former public school in the Polish city of  Wroclaw after the start of the war in 2022.

Initially this shelter was intended to accommodate Ukranian refugees for no more than two weeks, after which  they would be given the opportunity to live in alternative accommodation either in Wroclaw, or in another city in Poland and beyond. The continuation of the war has resulted in an overwhelming demand for accommodation, and since the end of the summer the 'temporary' residents of Grokhovaya 13 have been forced to  live in the shelter permanently if they cannot find their own housing.

The stay in this shelter is a unique and dramatic moment.  Time has frozen for its dwellers, they are between heaven and earth not knowing their fate, longing for their loved ones and a speedy return home.
